The Process
1. XRF Analysis
Our Evident Vanta analyzer fires a focused X-ray beam at the converter's monolith (the honeycomb core). The X-rays excite the atoms in the precious metals — Platinum (Pt), Palladium (Pd), and Rhodium (Rh) — causing them to emit unique fluorescent X-rays.

Each precious metal emits a distinct energy signature. The Vanta's detector reads these signatures and instantly identifies which PGMs are present and in what concentrations (parts per million). This tells us exactly what your converter contains.

Each monolith is then placed on our Adam LBX Bench Scale to determine its exact weight. This precise measurement, combined with the XRF concentration data, allows us to calculate the total grams of each precious metal present in your converter.

Using the PPM concentrations from the XRF analysis and the exact weight from the Adam scale, we calculate the total grams of Platinum, Palladium, and Rhodium in your unit. This gives us the real precious metal content — not an estimate.
